In this section you will find reports and articles about different SE Activities from all over our section. The activities arranged by our local section have been focusing on the Environment in a local, national or global perspective and have been carried out by our local community involving both local and international students. We also aim to collaborate with different environment organisations to reach a larger market.
We will be taking part in Let's Do It Malta!
Let's Do It Mediterranean (LDIM) was born from the same Let's Do It! concept, it aims to organize a 2014 clean-up in each country bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Between the 10th and 11th of May 2014, 1 million volunteers from all the Mediterranean countries will join their forces to clean their sea from trash. The one day clean-up concept, first used by Let's Do It World, created mass participation, huge influence and extremely beneficial results for the environment in 108 countries already. It has helped in raising awareness regarding the most stringent environmental problems demonstrating that they can be solved if we are all working together.
The main goal of the project is to clean up the whole coastline around Malta, Gozo and Comino.
To achieve this goal, we have established the following objectives:
-To involve 30, 000 volunteers from the population of Malta,
-To clean up at least 100 different spots within the Maltese islands.
-To involve the Ministries (Education, Tourism, Health and Sustainable Development), NGOs, University of Malta, Schools, Private Sector and You.
