As part as our SocialErasmus program we are trying to make it as easy as possible for you guys to become involved in any form of charity. Therefore we have contacted local charities to find out where you as a student could help out. Below find a list of a few of them. If there is any charity that you are particularly interested (even if it isn’t on this list) feel free to contact us so we can get in touch with them for you to see if they would accept volunteers.
• Noah’s Ark
Noah’s Ark accepts volunteers to clean the pens and feed the dogs. Socialisng the dogs is also part of the routine.
• Friends of the Earth
FoE welcome long term volunteers (at least 6 months) and also accept monetary donations.
• Happy Paws
Happy Paws volunteers who are genuinely interest in animal welfare to work with them. If you’d rather not work with animals they have three charity shops where hands on work not related to animals is needed. Donations of any sort to give to our shops and monetary donations are always welcome.
• SPCA Malta
SPCA Malta rely on volunteers for ongoing campaigns and initiatives and also one off events. At the moment they need dog walkers during the week and in the mornings as the weekend slots are full up for the time being.
They also need volunteers in their Paws 4 A Cause charity shops, which are found in Floriana, Sliema and University area. Volunteers will help sort and clean donated items and display them in the shop, and help with keeping the place clean and man the shops as sales people.
They have a Christmas fair coming up and need people to help during the events to man stands and fundraise.
Lastly they accept donations on items from books, clothes, accessories, toys, shoes and also house ware and furniture. Anything which is in good condition we keep for the shop. Any clothes which cannot be sold are used during the winter times for our animals and also sent for recycling.
